Passive House Podcast: Committing To Performance with Mark Anderson

We recently had the chance to chat with the team at the Passive House Podcast, where Mark shared a bit of our journey—from growing up on job sites with his dad to leading a team building high-performance homes here in Wanaka.

Since starting MA Building in 2013, we’ve been focused on craftsmanship, sustainability, and always asking how we can do things better. Passive House principles have been a natural progression in that journey—giving us the tools to create homes that are healthier, more comfortable, and built to stand the test of time.

In this episode, we talk about:

  • Why performance matters just as much as good design

  • The moment Mark decided it was time to build differently

  • What it really takes to deliver a Passive House build (and why it’s less daunting than people think)

  • Our commitment to building for future generations

It’s a relaxed, honest kōrero about where we’ve come from and where we’re heading.

Big thanks to the Passive House Podcast team for having us on and helping share the story behind the build.
