MA Building specialises in architecturally designed, bespoke homes for clients who expect precision at every stage. Based in Wānaka since 2013, we work across Central Otago alongside architects, engineers, and clients who bring us the projects others can't deliver.

Every home we build is different. What doesn't change is the approach: intelligent detailing, honest communication, and the kind of craftsmanship that only comes from a small team with something to prove on every project.

A considered process, from brief to handover.

We take on a select number of builds each year. That's a deliberate choice: it means Mark is hands-on from the first site meeting to the final walkthrough, not managing from a distance. We work closely with your architect and design team, stepping into projects where the detail matters and the margin for error doesn't.

Our clients tend to be people who've chosen their architect carefully and want a builder who'll match that standard. We bring the same rigour to programme management and communication as we do to the build itself — so the experience of building feels as considered as the home you end up in.

Our process is hands-on, honest, and built around you. From initial briefing through to handover, we guide you step-by-step, working closely with your architect or design team to ensure the build meets the brief.

MA Building is one of only a few Passive House Institute (PHI) certified builders in the Wānaka region. That credential reflects a precision approach and considered detailing that runs through every project we take on — not only those seeking certification.

For clients who want a fully certified Passive House, we have built them. For those who simply want a home that lasts, the same standard applies.
